30 Weeks

Anthony and I are now 30 weeks along! We're only 10 weeks away from full term! Anthony is now the size of cucumber and is getting bigger every day!

We had our doctor appointment yesterday which went well. It was quick again, which is nice, and I passed my glucose and diabetes tests from my last appointment. I told my doctor, Lynette, about choosing our pediatrician. And she gave us some information about touring the hospital.

Afterwards, I went and had my nails done as a treat to myself. I did different blues on both my fingers and toes in honor of Anthony. I'm hoping that at least my toe nail polish lasts until my shower.

I'm hoping that I can bribe Matt into going to Ikea this weekend to get the drawers and area rug for Anthony's room. He doesn't like shopping there, but we really need to get Anthony's half of the room set up and ready for his arrival.

Fairy Godmother

Last night, Matt and I saw his godparents' daughter Cait, who we had decided to ask to be Anthony's godmother. Knowing it would probably be the last time we saw her in person before Anthony is born, we asked her if she would be his godmother. She was very excited and honored and said yes!

We have also decided on his godfather and we're planning to hopefully see him sometime this week to ask him as well.

Early Bird

We received our first shower gift! Matt's godmother, Natalie, and her daughter, Cait, are going to be unable to attend the shower and so they brought their gift over to Matt's parents' for us tonight. It was so nice of them!

They got us our diaper pail and a box of refill bags for it. They also got us a set of receiving blankets and pacifiers as well as Go, Dog, Go and a stuffed animal dog from the book. We got the pail ready and we'll be sterilizing the pacifiers and washing to blankets soon!

Thank you Natalie, Doc, and Cait!

29 Weeks

Anthony and I are in the second week of our third trimester and he is doing great! He's now the size of an acorn squash, although apparently he only weighs between 2.5 and 4 pounds. It amazes me that he'll almost triple in size in the next two and a half months! He's still kicking all the time; I can especially feel it at night when I switch positions and during the day at work while I'm sitting at my desk.

We have our next appointment next Tuesday, should be the usual quick in and out, although I want to ask about preregistering at the hospital and letting them know we decided on our pediatrician.

Matt and my dad finished putting the crib together this past weekend while Mom, Olivia, and I addressed and stuffed the shower invitation envelopes. Mom sent them out yesterday, so we should start getting RSVPs soon!

I got two new pairs of maternity pants on Saturday and they actually fit! They're very comfortable now that I upgraded to the full belly panel. I still prefer sweats, but I can't really wear them to work.

March Showers

2/1

The invitations are addressed and ready to go out! My mom is going to add directions to the envelope and then she'll be sending them! They came out so nice (and corrected) as did the diaper raffle cards. Mom and I addressed them and Olivia stuffed the envelopes. Makes me even more excited for the shower!

1/13

My mom and Matt's mom have finalized my baby shower! It will be March 8 at Tony and Penny's in Ludlow. I'm very excited about it and I'm so grateful to both of Anthony's grandmothers for planning and hosting! I will update more on this post as information goes out! For now, here are the links to our registries:

28 Weeks

Anthony and I are in the first week of our third trimester! He is now the size of an eggplant and, boy, can I tell! I feel him moving constantly and he's started getting to the point where he'll randomly just be pushing some part of himself against me and I can feel it get really hard on the outside. He's gotten the hiccups a couple of times, as well, over the past week which is a rather weird sensation. I can feel the small movements, evenly and quickly spaced apart.

Hopefully my parents will be able to come this weekend so we can put the remaining two pieces of the crib together and maybe hit up Ikea for the drawers and area rug for Anthony. I could also help my mom send out the invitations for the shower! Speaking of which, I think we have finally completed our registries! I keep finding things to add, but after consulting a couple of guides, I think we have everything. Of course there are no clothes (other than basic white onesies and socks) because people just buy those anyway. I don't have a preference what anyone gets us and if Matt and I don't end up liking it, there's always the option of returning. However, I'm hoping that people will focus on what's actually on the registry since we really need those things.

Matt and I will be taking our monthly pictures this weekend and I'll update when we have them!

27 Weeks

Anthony and I are in our final week of our second trimester! We are both doing really well, although he's caused me to gain some weight in the last month. My doctor said it was normal, though, and that I haven't gained much throughout the pregnancy. Anthony is now the size of a rutabaga, which seems like a strange food to compare a baby too. Anyway, he's moving around like a crazy man, I feel him all the time and I started to feel him higher in my stomach as well as my lower abdomen.

We got the crib and changing table set up in our bedroom! My parents weren't able to come down this past weekend, so Matt and I went there instead. We were able to bring both the crib and changing table home with us and we set them up Sunday night. My parents will be visiting this Saturday to finish setting up the crib since my dad forgot two pieces of it. I can't wait to get the sheet set (hopefully for my shower) and finish up the crib with it!

Speaking of shower, my mom and I ordered the invitations last week and, of course, I messed up the dates. I put my due date instead of the shower date! We called as soon as we realized to change it, but they had already been sent to the printer (on a Sunday)!! So we had to order another batch and we'll be able to return the originals for a full refund. Here's a preview from the TinyPrints website (with the wrong date):

We may have some issues with our cats and the baby's furniture, though. They have been using it as a jungle gym at night as well as sneaking into the crib to lounge in it. They are certainly a pain!
