33 Weeks

Anthony and I have reached our 33rd week! Only 7 more to go (hopefully) until Matt and I meet baby Anthony for the first time! He is now about the size of a durian, which I have never heard of, but it looks like a prickly porcupine of a fruit. He's continuing to grow and develop, moving around constantly and making my stomach move all over. As for me, my metabolic rate is raised which is why I'm hungry all the time and overheating constantly.

So I went on a bit of a shopping spree for Anthony this past week. Matt's bonus came in last week at the same time half of the baby stores in existence were running sales. I bought a bunch of clothes from Carter's, Crazy 8, The Children's Place, and Old Navy as well as some baby supplies (burp clothes and bibs) from Target. Anthony will be one well-dressed baby boy!

I had my dad dig up a picture of my mom and I from when she was pregnant with my brother. I posted it last week to Instagram and Facebook as my throwback Thursday. One of the comments left was from my uncle who suggested that we retake the photo this weekend at my baby shower, which I think is awesome. It'll be a reverse of this photo:

I'll be sure to post it after my shower on Saturday! So excited!

32 Weeks

Anthony and I are now in our 32nd week in our third trimester! He's the size of a squash and constantly growing as well as shifting into position for birth. He moves around constantly, which I love, and has gotten to the point that people can see my stomach shifting around. I have also gotten to the point that people are starting to ask if I'm due soon.

I had another doctor appointment yesterday and Matt came with me. We heard Anthony's heartbeat which was strong and loud. The next two appointments are two weeks apart and then we start going every week. We were able to take our pictures as well which I'll post here even though my mouth looks like it's full of blood:

Special Delivery

Thanks to Michelle for two new books for Anthony! She's unable to attend the shower, so she ordered Hop on Pop and Dr. Seuss's ABC's and them sent to our apartment! Two of my very favorite children's books that we'll be able to introduce to Anthony!

Thanks again Michelle!

UPDATE

The other part of Michelle's gift came in the mail today! She also bought us our baby monitor, which will definitely get use! We haven't taken it out of the package yet, but we'll probably test it before Anthony is born to make sure everything works.

31 Weeks

Anthony and I are now at 31 weeks, we're getting close to the end! Anthony is now the size of a pineapple and I can feel it! He is one active baby right now, kicking me all over and jumping on my bladder constantly. Last night we went to the Friars basketball game versus Villanova and it was extremely loud in the arena. Anthony did not stop moving until we were in the car on the way home and it had gotten quiet!

Matt and I made our trip to Ikea this past Saturday and got the set of drawers and rug for Anthony's room. The trip was quick and painless, much to Matt's surprise, and he even enjoyed it a little. (He'd never admit that though.) That night we put out the rug and put together the drawers (without even getting angry with each other) which is really making the room come together!

Now we just need some bedding for the crib and I think we'll be done!

30 Weeks

Anthony and I are now 30 weeks along! We're only 10 weeks away from full term! Anthony is now the size of cucumber and is getting bigger every day!

We had our doctor appointment yesterday which went well. It was quick again, which is nice, and I passed my glucose and diabetes tests from my last appointment. I told my doctor, Lynette, about choosing our pediatrician. And she gave us some information about touring the hospital.

Afterwards, I went and had my nails done as a treat to myself. I did different blues on both my fingers and toes in honor of Anthony. I'm hoping that at least my toe nail polish lasts until my shower.

I'm hoping that I can bribe Matt into going to Ikea this weekend to get the drawers and area rug for Anthony's room. He doesn't like shopping there, but we really need to get Anthony's half of the room set up and ready for his arrival.

Fairy Godmother

Last night, Matt and I saw his godparents' daughter Cait, who we had decided to ask to be Anthony's godmother. Knowing it would probably be the last time we saw her in person before Anthony is born, we asked her if she would be his godmother. She was very excited and honored and said yes!

We have also decided on his godfather and we're planning to hopefully see him sometime this week to ask him as well.

Early Bird

We received our first shower gift! Matt's godmother, Natalie, and her daughter, Cait, are going to be unable to attend the shower and so they brought their gift over to Matt's parents' for us tonight. It was so nice of them!

They got us our diaper pail and a box of refill bags for it. They also got us a set of receiving blankets and pacifiers as well as Go, Dog, Go and a stuffed animal dog from the book. We got the pail ready and we'll be sterilizing the pacifiers and washing to blankets soon!

Thank you Natalie, Doc, and Cait!
